NYC Progressive Caucus

Tonight, join the Progressive Caucus and faith, community and labor leaders at Riverside Chuch (490 Riverside Drive) to rally for a living wage in New York City. Why does New York need a living wage? Because our tax dollars should create good jobs, not keep people in poverty! Come out tonight to raise your voice with us and learn more about this important policy. Doors and opening music at 5:30pm, event starts at 6:30pm.

Check out this video from Living Wage NYC, with testimonials from Progressive Caucus members Jumaane Williams, Letitia James, and Stephen Levin.

Tomorrow at 1pm, the City Council will hold a public hearing on the living wage at the Emigrant Savings Bank (49-51 Chambers St). The Progressive Caucus will be raising awareness about why a living wage ordinance is crucial for the economic vitality of our city, and how New York City can encourage job growth that creates healthy families and viable communities.

As we give thanks this week, we hope you’ll join us to call for economic justice and fair wages for New Yorkers.
